George Douros is a Melbourne-based Emergency Physician working at Austin Health and Western Health. He is also a case investigator for the Coroners' Court of Victoria. Realising that being a good clinician isn't enough to ensure that the right thing happens, George fell down a safety-science rabbit hole and has completed a masters in Human Factors and Patient Safety. It's not a case of 'To err is human; you're the problem', it's a case of 'To err is human; design your systems accepting that fact'.
