Dr. Rajasutharsan (Raj) Kathirgamanathan is an Emergency Physician at Northern Hospital, Melbourne, and Co-Director of Emergency Medicine. He is recognised as a dynamic, hands-on clinician who thrives in high-acuity environments, while also leading initiatives that strengthen education, innovation, and skill development within the Emergency Department. Raj's clinical interests include emergency ultrasound, regional anaesthesia, critical care and clinical education. He holds multiple CCPU accreditations in ultrasound and regional anaesthesia modules via ASUM and is currently completing a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound at Melbourne University. Beyond clinical practice, he is deeply committed to registrar education and supervision, skills training, and building a culture where the ED is not only a place of acute care, but also a centre of ongoing learning and professional growth.
